Preparing an international joint PhD

You can prepare a thesis at UGA under joint supervision with a foreign higher education institution. In this case, a joint supervision agreement must be drawn up and signed by the two partner institutions.

Obtain a PhD with the European label

Known as the “European Doctorate” or “Doctor Europaeus”, this label was established by the European University Association (EUA) and adds a European dimension to the doctoral degree. This system is distinct from the international joint supervision system, which may be combined with it.

Preparing your stay
In order to prepare your arrival and make the most of your stay, you can consult the section "Getting organized".
For PhD students, a dedicated welcome guide is available.
