Checklist – documents to bring with you!

Capturechecklist.PNG
You are very soon going to pack and get ready to come to France. Among all the things you are going to bring with you, there are documents that you should not forget in order to facilitate all of the administrative steps to take upon arrival.

You can find on our website the lists of documents corresponding to your profile:
-if you are a student, please click here,
-if you are a doctoral student, please click here,
-if you are a researcher, please click here.

Before leaving, we recommend you to scan all of your important documents and email them to your own mail box. If possible, make 2 or 3 copies of each document, since you are going to need them very soon upon your arrival in France, to settle in your new accommodation or to open a bank account for example.

We would also recommend that you keep with you (rather than in your suitcase) the original documents from the checklist: some of them may be requested by customs officers at the airport.

If you are coming from a country outside the euro zone, remember to exchange money at the airport for your first expenses. Please also check before leaving the withdrawal conditions of your debit/credit card, as you may have to use it during the first two weeks, the time it usually takes to open a bank account and obtain a debit card in France.

Finally, in case you do not have access to internet upon arrival, it could be useful to have all of the practical information written down: address and contact details of the place where you will be staying, your travel itinerary (trains, buses numbers, etc.), contact details of your student buddy (if you benefit from a buddy program), etc.

We wish you all a safe journey, and are looking forward to welcoming you very soon to the Communauté Université Grenoble Alpes!
