Grenoble municipal libraries

Grenoble has 14 municipal libraries spread throughout the whole urban area.

A subscription fee (8 € a year for the 18-25 age range) gives you full access to all the libraries in the network and borrowing rights of up to 20 documents : books, periodicals, strip-cartoon books, livres, CDs, DVDs, but also sheet music, maps, topoguides and works of art.

All the libraries are accessible to those with reduced mobility.

The International Municipal Library (BMI)

The international municipal library (BMI) contains a large choice of documents in foreign languages : German, English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.

Opening times : Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The General Reference Library (Bibliothèque d'étude et d'information)

The General Reference Library contains a general research room with 3,000 works of reference, a reading room including full digital resource facilities. Many services are available to readers: general orientation and bibliographical information, help with using digital resources, computer work stations, etc.
