Apply for an accommodation in a CROUS university residence

Individual students and grant-holders of the French government or a foreign government

Individual students and grant-holders of the French government or a foreign government have to apply by themselves to the CROUS by making an application for 'international Student Accommodation' between January 15th and May 31st. To do this they must fill in a special application dossier entitled 'Dossier Social Étudiant' on the national platform for student services:

If you do not already have an account, you can create one by filling the Registration form

Please note: International students that are not already studying in France have to tick the box "Je n'ai pas d'INE" at the end of the page. You will be asked to provide a proof of registration to finalize the creation of your account.
This account is also used to have access to the Izly card and to apply for the CLE, so make sure to use an email address you consult on a regular basis.

After May, 31st

It is still possible for students to apply even after this deadline, but applications sent after May 31st will have a lower priority and a longer processing time. Contact in this case the CROUS of Grenoble:
logement@crous-grenoble.fr

If you have a grant (bourse) managed by Campus France agency, the agency will directly take up your request with the CROUS pôle logement.

Students registered as part of an exchange program

Students registered as part of an exchange program have the advantage of having their application considered by ISSO.

They are sent the details of how to apply by the International Relations Service of their host university (with application on line, details of choices of accommodation, deadlines for application, etc.).

Students coming for a short stay, during the university year, for an internship or to take a competitive examination

Students coming for a short stay, during the university year, to carry out a training session (or stage) or to take a competitive state examination or other examination, can make a request (called'service Passagers') to CROUS for temporary accommodation (lasting from three days to several months). The application form can be downloaded from the CROUS website under the tab 'hébergement passage'. This should be sent with a copy of your student card, proof of identity and certified evidence of the stage or examination. The processing of your application takes about 8 to 10 days (depending on time of year). Places awarded are subject to availability.
