Request a duplicate (following loss or theft), a travel document for foreign minors (“DCEM”), or a change of address

How to apply for a duplicate following a theft or loss, change the address or your personal details on your residence permit, or apply for a travel document for your children (DCEM).

Duplicate (theft or loss), change of address, update of your personal details

Application must be submitted via the national platform of the Directorate-General for Foreign Nationals in France ("Direction Générale des Étrangers en France")
Please note
In case of a theft or loss abroad, you must first obtain a return visa ("visa de retour") from the nearest French consulate before applying for a duplicate online.
Please note
Technical issues prevent some users from submitting their application on the DGEF website. If you cannot submit your application, contact the help provided by the “Direction Générale des Étrangers en France (DGEF)”, which is the only way to solve the issue. Try to apply again regularly, and if the problem remains, contact ISSO.

Travel document for foreign minors (DCEM)

This document allows your children to cross the borders with you, inside and outside the Schengen Area. Its duration will be the same as your current residence permit, with a maximum of 5 years.
DCEM applications are done online, via the national platform of the Directorate-General for Foreign Nationals in France ("Direction Générale des Étrangers en France").
To prepare your application, you can use the following list provided by the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) of UGA:

> DCEM: List of requested documents

When the DCEM is available, the Prefecture will give you an appointment through the national platform to pick it up. You or your spouse will have to go at the Préfecture, along with the children who will receive the DCEM.

Bring with you:
  • The passports of your children
  • The birth certificates of your children
  • If it is a renewal, the current DCEM
  • Your passport
  • Your residence permit
  • A proof of address dated less than 3 months in the name of the parent present.
