What can be more alive in a culture than its arts and languages? Through dance, song, poetry and painting, there are infinite ways to discover and share in the traditions of African countries. Come to the forum and bring Valence alive to the beat of a different drum.
On October 13, Valence will dance to African beats at an open forum around this continent’s arts and languages.

Various events will be held non-stop from 18:00 to 22:00:
  • 18:00 - Tuareg poetry conference by Hawad, in partnership with Ardèche Afrique Solidarités, as part of the Images et Parole d'Afrique festival.
  • 19:00 - Poems, texts, songs and dances presented by students and young people. This show will be followed by a friendly get-together hosted by artist in residence Stéphanie Blé and 2 percussionists, in partnership with Ardèche Afrique Solidarités, as part of the Images et Parole d'Afrique festival.
  • 20:00 - Festive evening at the Partiel, the student association bar on site, in partnership with Association Valentinoise des Etudiants [Valence Students’ Association], the Erasmus Student Network Valence and Association Des Scientifiques Valentinois [Valence Scientists’ Association].

Free admission, pre-registration required.

  • Tour of the exhibition of paintings by the artist Codjo (from 10/10/2022 to 10/21/2022, at the Rabelais Library of the Drôme Ardèche Science Department (DSDA), 23 Chemin des Huguenots, in partnership with Ardèche Afrique Solidarités, as part of the Images et Parole d'Afrique festival.
  • Discover works linked to the cultures and traditions of various African countries throughout the libraries of the Valence campus.
