On  October 19, 2022Saint-Martin-d'Hères - Domaine universitaire
From Bolivia to Mexico and El Salvador, discover the rites and customs linked to the memory of the deceased. We invite you to take part in a conference which explores mourning from another perspective and a Papel Picado papercutting workshop on this emblem of Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos.
Enter the mysterious afterworld! Neither grief nor sadness at this event, which will take you on a discovery of the traditions linked to the dead in Latin America.

Your guide on this journey is Juliette Cazes, author of "Funèbre!”, an exploration of funerary customs around the world. During this conference, the writer will focus in particular on how Bolivians and Salvadorians honor the memory of their departed loved ones (13:30 - 15:00).

To round off this event, grab a pair of scissors and take part in a Papel Picado workshop to create this emblematic feature of the Mexican Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos). The association Los Mexicanos en Grenoble is offering two one-hour sessions to choose from: 12:00 - 13:00, or 15:00 - 16:00.

Free workshop, pre-registration required.
