You will be covered for health expenses from the first day of your employment contract by the general French social security system. Health insurance contributions are deducted directly at source from your salary. However, note that the registration procedure is not automatic.

If you arrive in France before your employment contract begins, we advise you to take out travel insurance or private health insurance to ensure you are covered for the beginning of your stay.

All matters relating to your registration and reimbursements will be handled by the CPAM (Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie) in Paris.
To register, you need to download and print the health insurance cover application form, fill it in, and send it, along with the supporting documents required depending on your circumstances, to:

Good to know
Some employers may have access to an online service for registering and obtaining a permanent social security number for their employees who hold a “Passeport Talent”. Do not hesitate to ask your employer or human resources department for further information.
