International students, PhD students and researchers, you arrived or were already in France in 2023? You should know that a tax return campaign is carried out each year by the French tax authorities. The 2024 tax return campaign is starting on April 11, 2024.
The 2024 calendar for the income tax return
The calendar varies depending on your département of residence and whether you file your tax return online or by post.You must meet the applicable deadlines when filing your tax returns.
- Start of the income tax declaration services: Thursday 11 April 2024.
- Deadline for online tax returns, if you live in Isère (Grenoble, 38) or Drôme (Valence, 26): Thursday 30 May 2024, at 23:59.
- Deadline for paper returns: before Tuesday 21 May 2024, at 23:59 (date as per postmark).

- Via the mailbox (messagerie) in your personal area (espace particulier) on the impots.gouv.fr website (if you already have access to your personal area).

- By visiting your local tax office, which offers walk-in service at certain hours.
