McMaster - Grenoble International Colloquia (MAGIC)

MAGIC is a series of colloquiums designed to highlight the existing collaborations between McMaster and UGA and to explore new opportunities for scientific cooperation. It also offers an opportunity to increase interaction between researchers, PhDs and students!
These colloquiums are open to all research communities interested in the theme chosen for each session.
 
For the first session, scheduled on October 24, the chosen theme is:
Materials Science - Focus: Metallurgy

The session will be opened by Hatem Zurob, Prof. Department of Materials Science and Engineering at McMaster University (Canada), Chevalier des Palmes Académiques.

Four presentations will be given by senior scientists and young researchers and followed by a discussion. Here are the speakers:
  • André Phillion, Professor and Arcelor Mittal Dofasco Endowed Chair in Ferrous Metallurgy, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, McMaster University
  • Alexis Deschamps, Professor at Grenoble INP - Phelma and researcher at the Materials and Processes Science and Engineering (SIMAP) laboratory at UGA
  • Pita Pourbahari Dr., McMaster University
  • Marion Bregeault, PhD, SIMAP

About the UGA - McMaster University partnership

McMaster University and Université Grenoble Alpes have a long history of scientific cooperation. Different scientific meetings have already been organized in the past, either in Hamilton or in Grenoble.
A framework agreement was signed in 2019 between UGA and McMaster University, one of the 8 strategic partners of the UGA.
