McMaster University is one of the five Canadian universities that are consistently ranked among the top 100 universities globally. It is also one of the U15 (Group of Canadian Research Universities). It hosts some 70 laboratories, and is home to 31,000 students.
An agreement was signed in July 2019 to encourage scientific projects and exchanges between the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and McMaster University, following on from existing cooperation including those with the Materials and Processes Science and Engineering Laboratory (SIMaP) and the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Physics (LIPhy).
Key figures
54 co-published scientific articles since 2019
42 outgoing mobilities and 15 incoming mobilities since 2016
Student exchange agreements signed with Grenoble INP – Phelma, UGA; Grenoble INP - Ensimag, UGA; and with the Faculty of Science, UGA
Dual degree in Mathematics, Statistics and their applications, involving IM²AG, UGA and Grenoble INP - Ensimag, UGA
Joint scientific culture courses offered to students of McMaster University and students of the Physics bachelor's degree program at UGA
Exchanges opportunities for master's and doctoral level students, offered for both incoming and outgoing mobility, thanks to the Globalink Research Award (GRA) scholarships co-funded by UGA and the Canadian agency Mitacs.
Other ongoing projects under development:
Dual degrees in Chemistry and Computer science
International training program in Nuclear Sciences. This project, initiated by McMaster University, also involves Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), Technical University of Munich (Germany), and the Institut Laue-Langevin (France).
