Results of UGA candidates for the "Globalink Research Internship" call

UGA has signed an agreement with the Canadian agency Mitacs with the aim of developing collaborations with Canada. Within this framework, UGA students, doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral researchers were able to apply for research internships in Canada.

Good results for UGA candidates in the "Globalink Research Internship" (GRI) call

As part of the GRI call, Mitacs compiles internship offers from Canadian universities and invites students from its partner institutions worldwide to apply. In addition to the internship opportunity, laureates receive full funding for travel and accommodation expenses.

The GRI call is highly selective. For the session open in 2023 for internships in 2024, Mitacs received 30,076 applications for approximately 3,000 internship offers. 66 UGA students applied, with 20 of them being selected.
 

The distribution of laureates by UGA faculties/schools is as follows:

  • 5 from the UFR Chemistry and Biology, UGA
  • 5 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, UGA
  • 4 from Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA
  • 3 from the PhITEM Faculty, UGA
  • 1 from Grenoble Faculty of Economics, UGA
  • 1 from the UFR SHS, UGA
  • 1 from UGA School of Political Sciences
 

The laureates will carry out research internships at 11 Canadian universities:

  • Université de Montréal
  • École de technologie supérieure de l’INRS (Institut national de la recherche scientifique)
  • McGill University
  • Université Laval
  • University of Windsor
  • University of Alberta
  • University of Manitoba
  • University of Saskatchewan
  • Université de Sherbrooke
  • Dalhousie University
  • Université du Québec en Outaouais.

UGA laureates of the "Globalink Research Award" (GRA)

This call funds scholarships for internship projects or research stays co-supervised by two supervisors: one in France, the other in Canada.
15 applications were submitted by UGA candidates in October 2023: 9 doctoral students, 5 Master's students, and 1 postdoctoral researcher.
11 projects were selected following the evaluation process.
