Health insurance and complementary health coverage

In most cases, you will be entitled to health insurance:

• Either by registering for French state health insurance,
• Or by continuing to be covered by the health system in your home country.

To supplement the reimbursements paid by state health insurance, it is highly recommended to take out complementary health insurance, known as “mutuelle”.

If you are not eligible for state health insurance, you must take out private health cover.

Reimbursement of medical expenses

Have you incurred medical expenses from consultations, buying medicines, etc.?
In some cases, they will be completely or partially reimbursed automatically. If they are not, you will have to request a reimbursement from your health insurance organization.
