At the end of September, a delegation from Grenoble Alpes University was invited to Tsukuba to take part in various events organized by this strategic partner.

The scientific community mobilized at the Tsukuba Conference

The Tsukuba Conference is an international meeting organized by the University of Tsukuba, which takes place every 2 years and brings together top-level scientists. This year, UGA was represented by several researchers in the fields of physics, materials and human and social sciences. A session dedicated to the role of the humanities and social sciences in international co-creation strategies beyond the sustainable development goals was co-organized by the University of Tsukuba and UGA.

Annual meetings of the Campus in Campus network

For several years now, UGA has been a member of the Campus in Campus network, set up by the University of Tsukuba. This network, which brings together 13 universities from all over the world, aims to strengthen international student mobility and exchanges between researchers as part of a drive for internationalization. Annual meetings provide an opportunity to take stock of activities and prepare for future initiatives.

Celebrating the 151st anniversary of the founding of the University of Tsukuba

This year marked the anniversary of the founding of the University of Tsukuba. To mark the occasion, an official ceremony highlighted the major achievements and scientific advances that place Tsukuba among the top universities in Japan.
UGA President Yassine Lakhnech was invited to speak at the event, alongside other officials. He was accompanied by UGA's Vice President for Research and Innovation and Vice President for Outreach and International Relations.

The visit was punctuated by a number of key events, such as the workshop of the international Japanese-French laboratory lAboratory for Semiconductor physics and Technology J-FAST (IRL CNRS - UGA-University of Tsukuba-Air Liquide), attended by several UGA students on mobility in Tsukuba, the signing of a 3rd double Master's degree between UGA and the University of Tsukuba in computer science, and meetings to set up or strengthen collaborations in the humanities, health and physics.
These highlights confirmed the growing strength of bilateral relations between the University of Tsukuba and UGA.
