The new Finance act passed on February 2026 acted a raise of the fees required to obtain a first residence card, or to renew it. It will come into effect on May 1st, 2026.
For example, it will cost you 100€ in fiscal stamps to obtain a residence card marked “Etudiant”, compared to 75€ previously. renewing a “Talent – Chercheur” residence permit will cost 250 €, instead of 225 € until now.
