Raise of the financial resources required to apply for a residence permit “Étudiant”

You need to apply for or renew a residence card to pursue your studies? The financial resources threshold required to apply for a residence permit marked “Étudiant” or “Étudiant - Programme de mobilité” has been raised.

If you apply after 31 July 2026:

You will have to show proof of monthly income of at least 878€, or 8 780 € for the whole academic year.

If you applied before 1 August 2026:

You remain subject to the previous requirements of 615 € per month (only for this application).
