Student challenge Leisure, International
On  March 19, 2026Saint-Martin-d'Hères - Domaine universitaire
What if you explored the mountains from a different perspective? During this nature escape game, discover the inspiring journeys of women who have left their mark on the history of mountaineering — from the Bolivian cholitas escaladoras to Saray Khumalo.
With a map in hand and riddles to solve, participants will explore these remarkable stories from around the world in teams and in the open air, while reflecting on how representations of femininity have evolved throughout history.

An escape game experience

Discover the true stories of inspiring women from around the world who, each in their own way, have shaped the history of mountain exploration.

Equipped with a map and a compass, and tasked with solving a series of riddles, teams (formed on site on the day of the event) will set off to learn about the Bolivian cholitas escaladoras, Emma Gatewood from the United States, and Saray Khumalo from South Africa, among others.

Through the stories of these mountain pioneers, participants will reflect - both individually and collectively - on the representations of femininity across cultures and throughout history.

Some instructions and key elements will be available in English to facilitate the participation of international students.
