September 19, 2023 - September 21, 2023
From September 19 to 21, 2023, Wroclaw Tech (Poland) hosted the 8th Unite! Dialogue on the theme of "Unite! ecosystems". Representatives from all the alliance's universities, as well as delegates from 7 Ukrainian universities, met for the occasion.
The 8th Unite! dialogue featured a highly productive strategy workshop, specially designed for university presidents and rectors, enabling decision-makers to actively shape the alliance's strategy. Beyond the working group meetings, the event also featured cross-cutting, interactive and plenary sessions, offering a global perspective on the alliance.
"The lively discussions throughout the 8th Unite! Dialogue highlighted the close and extensive collaborative networks we have already built in education, innovation and research. Together, as an alliance, we have created a strong and dynamic Unite! ecosystem. I am convinced that this Dialogue has inspired a multitude of avenues for strengthening these ecosystems in the future. It has helped us consolidate our identity as a single community to drive Unite! forward," says Professor Tanja Brühl, President of Unite!
Student participation in the Dialogue was not only an essential component, but a driving force throughout the event, highlighting their invaluable role in shaping the Alliance. A diverse group of students from the SURE! student association, actively engaged in working group meetings alongside faculty and staff, bringing fresh perspectives and new points of view.
Finally, the dialogue also benefited from the participation of delegates from seven Ukrainian universities actively involved in the "Green Transition in Ukrainian Universities" project alongside Wrocław Tech, funded by the Polish Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA). At the same time, colleagues from Ukrainian universities and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Ukraine have been working closely with the Unite! expert community on the creation of an "Open Innovation Community for Green Transition". This convergence of efforts marked a crucial moment for establishing new connections and discussing potential collaborations, particularly in the field of ecological transition.
Wrocław Tech hosted nearly 60 students from seven Ukrainian universities on the bangs of the dialogue, offering a range of 12 different workshops selected by them according to their preferences.
The next Unite! Dialogue will take place in Graz (Austria) next February.
