On February 13, 2024, a delegation from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) travelled to Grenoble as part of the FACET project, the French-Australian Centre for Energy Transition, launched at the end of 2023.
The delegation, comprised of the Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne University of Technology, Pascale QUESTER, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Karen Hapgood, had the opportunity to meet with the co-leaders of FACET project: the representatives from Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and from the Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA).
In the morning, they visited the Grenoble Electrical Engineering laboratory (G2Elab). Subsequently, a working group consisting of professors, researchers, and doctors from UGA and CEA gathered to work on the FACET project roadmap.
In the afternoon, the delegation was welcomed at the House of Creation and Innovation (MaCI).
What is FACET project?
At the end of 2023, France and Australia announced a new historic partnership with the launch of FACET, the French-Australian Centre for Energy Transition.
Co-led by CEA, UGA, and Swinburne University of Technology, FACET aims to tackle climate change by building cooperation on sustainable and inclusive energy initiatives, and by supporting energy transition needs in the Indo-Pacific region.
